Are you out of a job? Are you a recent graduate and don’t know what will be a stable and good job in the near future? Are you looking for the degree of the future?

The job future is changing in front of us, and it is starting with the degrees being offered by colleges and universities. One degree that is on the rise is an alternative energy degree. This is a brand new field and at the moment very few schools offer this as an actual degree. This degree focuses in on the new technologies emerging. The alternative energy field is in the process of exploding.

Ex: About ten years or so ago, degrees in computer science were looked at weirdly. In fact they were rare. Soon many people went into this field. (They all run and work at Google now!)

Position yourself for success. Are you an engineer and always worrying about losing your job, its time for you to be pro-active and find the right degree? Enhancing the knowledge that you may already have is easier than you think. If you are a misplaced engineer, than see about upgrading that knowledge to plug yourself into the many alternative energy companies that are sprouting up.

If you are on the east coast check out these school to get an alternative energy degree, Canton College of Technology in New York, and Illinois State University in Illinois, and Penn State in Pennsylvania. If you are looking for an associates take a look at Lawrence Tech University in Michigan. If you would like to further your education with a Master’s degree, look into Wayne State University in Michigan, they are one of the few places that offer an advanced degree in this field.

If you are on the west coast check out these schools to get your bachelor’s degree, San Juan College in New Mexico, Arizona State University in Arizona, Oregon Institute of Technology in Oregon, and Washington State University in Washington. If you are looking for an associate’s degree, look into Coconino Community College in Arizona.

If you are not the college type than don’t get discouraged there are other options. If you are one of the many people who have been working in the auto factory and have many years of on the job skills, it may be easier than you think to make the cross over to the alternative energy field. There are programs available that have training to become solar panel installer, solar thermal installers, or wind energy technicians. Chances are you probably already have the known how.
